The 2007 Andover High School Marching Huskies present:

Established in 2003, Andover High school offers a comprehensive music program including three concert bands, three choirs, two orchestras, jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, marching band, pep band and several other small ensembles.

This year, the Andover Marching Huskies proudly present their 2007 show, titled “Electronica.” Grounded in the history of synthesizers, this brand new show for the marching field draws its inspiration from the thumping beats and intricate melodies of today’s techno music. Three electrifying movements – Waveforms, Harmonic Synthesis and Electroshock – propel the musicians and stir the crowd.

The first movement, “Waveforms,” evokes the sound of the Moog Synthesizer, an analog synthesizer created by instrument maker Robert Moog in the early 70s, long before the digital age.

The second movement, “Harmonic Synthesis,” prompts memories of the Rhodes Piano, a familiar sound to children of the 60s.

The final movement, “Electroshock,” incorporates the sound of the Yamaha DX7 (pause), the first commercially used digital synthesizer that’s distinctive sound can be identified in many recordings from the 80s.

The Andover Marching Huskies would like to thank their parents, families and friends that have made this performing season possible.  They would also like to thank the many alumni staff members for their time throughout the season that has helped build and keep our program strong.
